Burt Conrad Szerlip is a Grammy winning singer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, arranger, engineer and producer. You know his work on records from the Grammy winning “Still Crazy After All These Years” by Paul Simon to John Lennon’s “Mind Games,” Lou Reed’s “Berlin,” Alice Cooper’s “Schools Out”, and Aerosmith’s “Get Your Wings” and on jingles that have become part of the fabric of American life for companies including McDonald’s, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and NBC among others.

Burt started music professionally in his teenage years with his soul band Mocha, eventually started a rock band, Skate, and then formed Mocha Music with songwriting partner Ben Elliott where he engineered, produced, arranged and wrote the club dance hits “Love Me Tonight” and “Dancing in the Darkness” by Mocha Music artist Coco Du Jour. Musically expanding even further, Burt formed and toured with the Burt Conrad All Stars where he handled vocals, guitar and keyboards. The All Stars released two CDs, on which Burt explored his musical roots in soul, jazz, R&B, reggae, rock and pop. The next musical progression found Burt further exploring his musical foundation with the albums “Es Tiempo” and “One Dream of Love” where he embraced Latin grooves of salsa, merengue, reggaeton and bachata. 

Through the years working with his own records across genres and those cut at the studios where he worked, Record Plant Recording Studios, A&R Studios, Davlen Recording Studios, Bearsville Recording Studios and Kendun Recorders, Burt’s life has given him the opportunity to influence the songs embraced by several generations.

Now in 2024 Burt returns to releasing his own recordings, this time under his given name - Burt Conrad Szerlip. Variations of this name - Burt Conrad, Burt Szerlip, Burt Conrad All Stars - have all been featured as artists names in the past but the most recent recordings reflect a lifetime of songwriting, recording and performing. The forthcoming album “Can’t Stop Now” is being recorded at Toad Hill Recording Studios and will be released on Sea Bright Records.

The first single “The Story Never Ends” was released September 13, 2024 and is a song about hope. The idea that we can have discord, breakups, division yet with dialogue driven by love, we can find common ground and work things out. In the end, we are all the same, human beings desiring love and happiness in our lives. This common thread is what binds us to live in peace and harmony. The story may never end but the good news is that we can strive to make our world better each and every day.

Burt Conrad Szerlip continues to do this through music. Across all areas, it’s his life and he can’t stop now.
